Inspired by Service

Bright Smiles began with a simple example of service passed from one generation to the next.

Founder Lily Dailey grew up hearing about the mission work of her grandfather, Dr. Arthur Eddy, a retired dentist whose work took him to Haiti and Ecuador, and ultimately to Uganda, where he helped establish a dental clinic.

His example inspired Lily to consider how she could use her own time and abilities to help others. In 2024, while still in high school, the idea of Bright Smiles was born.

What began with a connection to her grandfather’s work in Uganda has grown into a broader commitment to supporting healthcare there. Today, Bright Smiles works alongside local healthcare leaders and trusted partners to identify needs and help provide the resources, technology, training, and support that can make quality care more accessible.

“My grandfather showed me that you don’t have to solve every problem to make a meaningful difference. He used what he knew how to do to help people who needed it. His example made me think about what I could do, even though I’m still in high school.”
